The Potter and Clay - Isaiah 64:8
📖 Scripture “But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand.” – Isaiah 64:8 🔎 Examination One of the great tragedies of fallen, depraved, sinful humanity is that we often view God the Father through the lens of broken earthly experiences rather than through the testimony of Scripture. Some envision Him as distant and uninterested (deism). Others imagine Him as a permissive enabler unconcerned with sin. Still others see Him merely as a cosmic vending machine that dispenses blessings and goodies to improve temporal circumstances. Yet the Word of God presents an infinitely richer and glorious reality. Isaiah declares, “You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter.” This imagery immediately establishes God's authority, ownership, wisdom, and loving care.
